The Orphan Care ministry is hosting a simulcast of the Empowered to Connect conference April 7-8 (9:00 am to 5:00 pm both days). This conference was incredible in regard to parenting/loving/caring for kiddos from traumatic backgrounds.
Because we know that there are inherent differences in raising kids from trauma backgrounds vs "typical" parenting, we also understand that normal methods of interaction don't always work. We also understand that working with our kiddos can be frustrating when people aren't familiar with those different methods of interactions.
The mission of the orphan care ministry is to educate and support followers of Jesus who have a desire to live out James 1:27 and "look after orphans in their distress." This is done through educational seminars, monthly small group meetings, playdates, socials, fundraisers, prayer and more! We have relationships with agencies that our families have worked with as well as many families who have been through the process of adoption and foster care that love to help and encourage others.
When we meet:
WEEKLY: Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:45pm at FBC
MONTHLY: Second Sunday of the month from 2-4pm at FBC
