In a very short time, David went from Standing Victorious on the battle field over Goliath's body to hiding out in a cave. A moment of glory followed by years of desperation and on the run. We all experience cave times. How do we sustain ourselves in those days? How do we emerge back into the sunlight with a deeper faith and greater purpose?
There are still giants in the land. We all face giants along the way and how we respond has a lot to do with how BIG our God is. Fear grips everyone and we deal with fear based on our view of ourself, our enemy and our God. What Goliath problems do you see in our world today?
Welcome back to Community Groups. We are beginning a new series about the life of King David called "Chasing after the Heart of God." Each week our sermon outline will have group discussion questions attached. You can catch the weekend message on Youtube here. In addition we will have video content here shot on Location in Israel bringing the life of David to life. (wait... was that redundant?) No matter how you engage the content we hope the lessons of David's life will be a blessing to you, your community group, or maybe for this season of pandemic your family will be your community group. King David wasn't always King David, he was just a 15 year old shepherd boy. Lets dive into the prequel, or origin story of David.
