This week, Dane Burg and I look at Exodus, Risk, and our vocation as the People of God.
God's people began as a people in need of rescue, and our Savior began life as a homeless refugee. What does that mean for us, today? Read Exodus 3:1-10 before you start! Discussion sheet for Community Groups included below. ![]()

This week, I have the pleasure of giving the "tithing sermon." Which I'm pretty sure means that somewhere in the hierarchy of the church, they decided to play a mean joke on me.
In all seriousness, though, learning what it means to give generously can be a powerful way to get "unstuck" and see our faith grow in ways we never thought possible. Below, Find the companion video for this week's teaching. It's 15 minutes long, and features the awesome scriptural & financial wisdom of Mr. Chris Phillips, one of the elders here at First Baptist and a financial advisor. It's designed to be watched and discussed with your community group, but feel free to use it however you'd like. As always, download the sheet below and read the passage for the day before watching. Enjoy!

This week, we're starting a new phase in our community group teachings. Each week, these teachings will roughly coincide with the Sunday Morning Sermon. The goal is that these teachings can take us a bit deeper, or help us go a bit farther, or maybe just get us thinking about the topic from a bit different angle. There are also some discussion questions designed to get you talking together. At the end of the day the goal is that we are growing together both in our community groups and as a church on the whole.
Now. If you are a new group and haven't gone through "Movements," my encouragement to you is you STOP HERE and do those first! You are welcome (of course) to use these teachings however you want, but your group will benefit by going through that foundation material first. So, without further ado, here's this week's teaching! ![]()
